Stephanie is a licensed professional counselor and nationally certified counselor who completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Shippensburg University in psychology and counseling both with Honors. Stephanie has worked in a variety of positions at Shippensburg University including Interim Assistant Director at their Career Development Center. Stephanie's passion has been private practice where she can focus on her client's needs, aiming towards a successful treatment goal.
Stephanie utilizes an integrated, strength-based therapeutic approach that is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and a solution-oriented approach which relies on a strong therapeutic alliance while encouraging compassion. Her specialties include anxiety and depression working with clients adjusting to significant life change (such as transitions to or from university/education and employment/career). She also has experience in successfully treating depression/bipolar disorders, trauma/abuse history, anger/impulsivity, codependency, self-esteem, women's issues, co-occurring disorders. Stephanie also incorporates aspects of Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Developmental, and Family Systems theories with an emphasis on the therapeutic alliance.
Stephanie also believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment, which emphasizes a biopsychosocial focus that includes incorporating physicians/psychiatrists/medical providers (biological), psychotherapy/assessment (psychological) and positive family/social supports and community engagement (sociological) as applicable to support healing.
